It's the obsession with the damage buff from max Warfare that drives people to specialize in Necromancer. The elemental trees aren't like that, and dovetail quite well together in different combinations. Just not if one of them is Necromancy, and, from a min-maxing perspective, therefore dependent on 10 levels of another full Ability tree. You cannot focus on 2 full schools of magic. 3 dudes watching the blood storm demolishing the final boss(es) in 2 turns (maybe more than 2 if you are not Lone Wolfing). You will play a dead team of 1 necro and. Because 1 full necro character in a team will make most of your other characters (except the buffer) completly useless. I advise you to play as a summoner (10 points) with some necromancy. If you focus on necro instead of summoner, then you will be so strong that summoning will become obsolete. In short : summoner is shit without 10 points into it, but you cannot put many points into warfare to be a strong necro too. But after this point, when you get grasp + apotheosis + bloodstorm + skin graft + corpse explosion, why would you EVER summon something ? You will cast apotheosis before a combat, then you spam blood storm + grasp + skin graft + fane time warp (not needed, overkill) + do it again and EVERYTHING is dead 10 times. Summoner fast 10 points rush is really strong during the early game, and necro unlocks his stronger spells later on. If you add to that some points into scoundrel and stuff for utility/mobility spells, then you cannot focus on 2 full schools of magic.īUT deeper than the points problem, you have an other issue : naturally, you will only use necromancy after a certain point (lvl 12-13+). And to be a powerful summoner, you absolutly need 10 points into summoner, because your incarnate turns into a giant monster at 10. To be a powerful necro, you need 10 points into warfare. Here is a sad truth : you can't be a good summoner AND a good necromancer at the same time.
